STERLING, IL — VeriFacts, LLC, a leading employment location and verification provider, is celebrating its annual Season of Giving. Continuing on from support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the team showed thanks through giving in November and has more in the works for the rest of the holiday season.
“We get excited about this time of year. It helps us keep up our morale as the seasons change to turn our focus outward and rally around one another and our community. We try to look at our team first, and this year we were able to support two of our employees and their families during some challenging times. I’m so thankful for the generous spirit our team continues to demonstrate in big and small ways, and for the opportunities we have to share our lives and our gifts for greater purposes,” says Stephanie Clark, VeriFacts CEO.
Employees Supporting Employees
The team joined in for two separate 50/50 raffles with the non-prize proceeds and additional donations provided to employees facing times of challenge, including one employee’s family’s tragic house fire and another employee’s loved and beautiful newborn baby who was diagnosed with MPS (Hurler Syndrome).
Granny Rose Animal Shelter
As the cool air swept in, the team also dusted off their crockpots and dutch ovens for a Soup/Chili Cook-Off. The proceeds of this event went to the Granny Rose Animal Shelter. The shelter finds good homes for unwanted pets of the local area by providing full basic veterinary care and beginner obedience training before interviewing families who wish to adopt. The shelter also provides boarding and sells pet supplies to help fund its operations.
Youth & Education
Working together again, the VeriFacts team packed school lunches for children in need in the community. In most of its giving initiatives, VeriFacts aims to integrate team involvement and community building in the ways they choose to give.
The School Supply Closet
A school supply drive was also held at the office to support The School Supply Closet, a local organization providing free school supplies to those in the community who need them.
The CEO Program
On a more business-minded note, the company hosted local students of the high school CEO program to teach them about the company, business best practices, leadership, company culture, and more. The program consists of students from area high schools who have a strong interest in business and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Local Health
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Giving locally is important to the VeriFacts team. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they donated care baskets to local breast cancer patients.
CGH Medical Center
Donations were also made to support cancer patients at the local hospital, CGH Medical Center. CGH is a progressive acute care facility located in the heart of the Sauk Valley, in Northern Illinois.
Rock River Hospice & Home
Still in the works is a plan to contribute to the local hospice center, Rock River Hospice. The team is currently communicating with the center to determine needs and how they can best help.
Warm Shelter
YWCA & Salvation Army
As winter quickly approaches, the team is also developing plans to help support the local Sauk Valley YWCA as well as the Sterling, IL Salvation Army. One area of need will be to help supply goods for the full women’s shelters at the Y.
In sum, the VeriFacts team is busy and active as ever and continues to be committed to finding ways to give back and share resources (as well as laughs and good times) within the company and the community.
